What is the music business anyway?

Students will learn the history of the music industry and its key components through fun and interactive programming.

Students will learn explore the key differences between record labels, publishers, and distributors. They will explore popular careers in these entities and will meet and greet with real music industry executives.

Students will get an introduction to music production, songwriting, and beat-making from music industry professionals.

Students will learn the art of audio engineering and vocal recording through hands-on training in professional recording studio.

Students will learn how to get paid for their music through performing rights organizations.

Students will learn demonstrate their understanding of the business of music and the concepts they learned in the program through a performance showcase.
